A Brief History of Why...

About Maggie and Todd... In early September of 2003… actually on Labor Day, Maggie and Todd met. It was a blind data care of Match.com. Vanity prevented Maggie from posting her picture on Match so it was truly a blind date for Todd - showing his true character in how he values people and not based on their physical characteristics. Maggie on the other hand had the advantage of seeing pictures of Todd and kept her decision to meet him on the shallow side.
For a first date, they decided on a short hike, Mt. Sanitas, in Boulder, CO near Maggie's apartment. Being in better shape and not realizing Todd is an asthmatic, Maggie bolted - promptly kicking Todd's butt up the mountain. Wheezing and gasping behind her, Todd attempted to make conversation. Nope … not happening.
Four months later, they started talking about this trip. Todd had been thinking about doing an extended vacation for quite a while. After some thought, about 15 seconds, Maggie was in.

Maggie is originally from Cape Girardeau, MO, a historic Mississippi River town about 100 miles south of St. Louis. After finishing undergrad at University of Kansas, she moved to Colorado to backcountry guide for Younglife. That was in 1993.
Currently, Maggie is a Physician Assistant for Lakewood Family Medicine, just west of Denver. Lakewood Family Medicine is made up of a great bunch of docs and providers. They hired Maggie to switch jobs knowing that in 6 months she will be heading to New Zealand. While it's not in writing, upon returning, she is planning on rejoining the practice.
Todd is originally from Elkhart, IN, which about 2 hours East of Chicago. Having visited Colorado after finishing his junior year at DePauw, he knew he was going to live there one day. It took 7 years of working in Indianapolis and 2 years of grad school at Indiana University somewhere in between, but he finally made it to Colorado. Three jobs and five years later, he met Maggie.
Kinda strange how it all came together now that we read over this.
